When Blue Zoo's dedicated 2D studio began working on It's Pony with its brilliant creator Ant Blades, their mission was to scale his uniquely charming concept into one of their biggest and highest quality series.
The characters of Annie and Pony were built with an expressive simplicity from the sketch up. It was essential that the pair’s heartwarming friendship shone through in every frame. Though It's Pony is a modern, digitally produced show, immense detail went into giving it a traditional, hand-drawn feel. Nuances like the organic 'boil' of the line work and the subtle texturing were carefully crafted to ensure every moment felt vibrant and true to Ant's unique artistic style.
Using Toon Boom Harmony, our international team of artists built expressive 2D rigs to bring every character to life with fluid animation. The goal was to create a genuinely warm and hilarious show, capturing a classic charm that makes every chaotic moment and heartfelt hug feel real.
