Playmobil 50th Anniversary

To celebrate Playmobil turning fifty, Blue-Zoo crafted five glamorous films featuring classic characters partnered with the brand, including Scooby-Doo, James Bond, Asterix and Obelix and Ghostbusters! Each film begins in the world of it’s IP, then concludes with an arrival on the red carpet to party the night away in style.

“We were delighted to be asked to create the animated films for Playmobil’s 50th anniversary. Taking a number of IPs and classic characters and creating their own little narrative was a ton of fun and gave us room to play with different cinematography and settings to make each one unique.

They all needed to end up on the red carpet so we designed a theatre-style building, inspired by award ceremonies and movie premieres. The crowd of photographers and fans was created using an array of secondary Playmobil characters scattered throughout the scene using animated loops with camera flashes helping to guide the eye and avoid any noticeable repetition.”
